2007 03 19 Parkland schools to reopen Tuesday morning
The Parkland School Division strike is now over and Parkland school will reopen Tuesday morning. Robert Twerdoclib, president of the Parkland Teachers’ Local, announced this afternoon a process by which teachers and trustees will submit the dispute for voluntary interest arbitration.
Twerdoclib said that Parkland teachers have missed their students and are eager to return to their classrooms. He said that teachers will make every possible effort to catch up on material that would normally have been covered during the period of the strike. “There will be no school during the spring break and students and parents should continue with any plans that were put in place prior to the job action,” Twerdoclib said.
Teachers employed by Parkland School Division provide educational services to more than 9,500 students in 22 schools located between Entwistle and Spruce Grove.
